Worship in the Midst of Trial (or car trouble)

Worship in the Midst of Trial (or car trouble)

Ever heard the phrase, "Sacrifice of Praise?" The psalms say "let everything that has breath praise the Lord." How about this; "Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise – the fruit of lips that confess His name,” (Heb 13:15)?

It's an interesting call for us, as long as we have breath to praise the Lord. I looked in my Bible and didn't see an asterisk next to those statements. Look in yours. There's nothing like; *"unless you have money problems," or *"as long as everything is going great." You've probably heard this all preached before, but did you know that praise (worship) can be a sacrifice? Did you know that you can worship when you don't feel like worshiping? In fact, you can count it a sacrifice to worship when you don't feel like it.

Ever get cut out on the freeway (highway, autobahn)? That crazy guy drives like his car is 1/3 its actual size and your only hope is to see him get stopped by the cops. That's a great time to praise. We might jump for joy if/when he does get stopped, but let's jump for joy in the midst of our anger too. Sound like an oxymoron? In every situation, ask yourself this question, "Am I breathing?" The answer to that will also be the answer to the question, "Should I worship?"  If you are, indeed, breathing, then, you should, indeed, worship. Get it?
